Within the scope of the Football Unifies project, which aims to support the participation of young girls, especially adolescents, living in disadvantaged areas of Istanbul, in sports and football, young girls carried out different workshops such as "gender workshop" and "children’s rights". Physical football training was carried out with the participation of professional football players with the support of sports psychologists and gender trainers.

Recycled Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE) meet Art

During my internship at ELASTRON, I discovered the power of sustainable innovation. I worked on Recycled Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPE), turning waste into creative solutions. Not only did we reduce resource consumption and combat climate change, but we also transformed hard-to-recycle plastic structures into beautiful artworks with Yucel Kale, a renowned artist based in Istanbul.
The artworks I have made with nature-friendly products include works that aim to reduce the environmental impacts of the products by using ecological and green design concepts, taking into account the entire product life cycle.

    The principles of Green and Eco Design of artworks;

    • Replacing hazardous substances with harmless alternatives,
    • Keep products and product parts re-usable
    • Designing which is easily repaired,
    • When choosing materials that can be reused or recycled
    • Using convertible options
    • Re-thinking products and their functions designing

These sculptures were showcased at multiple international fairs across Turkey & Europe. Then found a new home and purpose at a museum auction, all proceeds benefiting earthquake survivors in Hatay - Samandagi

    Patent Project

Worked in R&D with the team of Prof. Dr. Ersin Acar and filed the patent of “Method for producing a low temperature curable powder coating composition and low temperature curable powder coating composition obtainable by such method”

Worked in Research & Development with the team of Prof. Dr. Ersin Acar(Bosphorus University) and filed the patent of “Method for producing a low temperature curable powder coating composition and low temperature curable powder coating composition obtainable by such method” in European Patent Office (EPO).

Powder coatings are environmentally friendly coatings. Their formulations basically consist of a resin, a crosslinker, and a catalyst that can be curable with the heat on a substrate. Other components like pigments, fillers, and flow modifiers are added to the formulations based on the application areas. Powder coatings are used in automotive, architecture, and other metal industries. For these areas, the curing temperature range varies between 140°C and 200°C. Due to high curing temperatures, powder coatings could not be used for heat-sensitive substrates such as wood, MDF, and plastics until recent years. Nowadays, there is an interest in decreasing curing temperatures of powder coating systems (120°C-140°C) so that they can be used in the wood industry. Starting from this point, the resins with low molecular weights and low viscosities for low curing temperature powder coating systems have become commercial. However, there are some disadvantages of newly commercial resins. The most severe and essential problem is poor storage stability of powder coatings including low curing resins. In this study, a new resin has been developed by chain extension of a commercial low curing resin in the extruder. Low curing resin was extruded with a chain extender to merge polymer chains. New powder coating formulations have been studied with chain extended resin. During chain extension and powder coating studies, a single screw extruder was used. Newly synthesized resins were analyzed by FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy), GPC (Gel Permeation Chromatography) and DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry). Powder coatings were analyzed by FTIR, rheometer, inclined

Inspired by leftover second quality skins during my internship at Gunduz Kurk, the leather tannery where my mother is a shareholder. I was in the team of developing the business idea of creating throws and pillows using the intact parts of these skins, and lining them with cashmere or leather to create a new home decoration brand ANVOGG. Involved with both the manufacturing process and business design. The brand was introduced internationally several times at the home decoration fair "Maison Objet Paris.” ANVOGG is now exported to several countries in Europe and available at Turkish decoration stores.

    Sustained Investigation

    • Identify the question(s) or inquiry that guided your sustained investigation:
To build a sustainable and resilient future, we should not solely focus on reducing, reusing, and recycling. I asked myself how can we alter our lifestyles andhow we treat animals? How can we realizethat farming practices, breeding, and unethical slaughter hurts not only them, but our environment too? Giving animals their full rights as living beings and upholding the mitigations for climate change is the only way forward to impact thecurrent and future of climate change, my artwork reflects this. Exploring how humans view animals as objects we can alter how to treat them on ethical terms.
    • Describe how your sustained investigation shows evidenceof practice, experimentation, and revision guided by your question(s) or inquiry:
Response: As a complex subject, Iembedded within my artworkvarious mediathat highlights human's lifestyles/behaviors. Illustrating a profile that is human with the strong structure of an animal shows how our ways become animalistic. The gold chain on the animal represents hedonism and confining the animals, the gas mask represents the struggle to live. The cows circulating the globe in an angelic state is their true being.Using the diverse fake fur and vegan leather on the profile, Iconvey to the viewer that these were living objects. Finally, girl with the flowers, blurs as CO2 emissions covers her.

    Written Evidence

    Sustained Investigation

    • Identify the question(s) or inquiry that guided your sustained investigation:
Studying major genres of architecture like Ancient Greek and Roman structure and even contemporary architecture like Frank Lloyd Wright it became evident all are inspired by nature and landscapes. Wanting to recreate these timeless structures using modern methods, tools and techniques I sought to help improve humanity's health and by becoming one with the natural world. Thus, I explored Anatolion botany and transalted its healing powers to design. Using virbant colors, shapes, and forms I discovered these structures can improve mental health.
    • Describe how your sustained investigation shows evidence of practice, experimentation, and revision guided by your question(s) or inquiry:
Seeking ways to integrate nature into development by studying biomimicr, I learned letting natural light into buildings is self-healing for depression and the winter blues (the prennial sand leeks elicity happy feelings.) Creating balconies on the acorn structure for fresh air reduces anxiety and gives building inhabitants a natural way to cool down. Using solar power within the design manages heat transfer holistically and doesn't disrupt asthma&allergies. Finally, by embracing traditional materials and Anatolian plants and flowers, our communities become healthier and more resillient.

    Written Evidence

    Sustained Investigation

    • Identify the question(s) or inquiry that guided your sustained investigation:
Drawing inspiration from our global societies full of life or lacking opportunities, I surmised that fragrance shapes our communities. Dystopian environments lack a sweet smell and face the challenges of not meeting 21st-century standards, yet slight alternations can bring life and represent inspiration and change. Viewing a utopian society, I see color with respect for the law and cultures. While imperfect, the color radiates independent thought and freedom to seek goodness and autotomy. As a critical representation of society, we must scent society with enlightenment to thrive.
    • Describe how your sustained investigation shows evidence of practice, experimentation, and revision guided by your question(s) or inquiry:
Using contrast of color and monochrome, I emphasized how our societies are colored with opportunities or are on the grayscale with fewer opportunities- i.e. the dark urban background with the centered house with the light on shows us life and growing prosperity. Exploring global inequality, our spaces on amicro and macro-level must have positive attributes such as scent and foliage to generate positivty and the freedom to live without fear. As the 21st Century presents us with unique challenges, the concept of utopia and dystopia illustrate earthy heavens or human hells on earth.
